Research experience

In 2005, after obtaining a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, I started as Research Engineer in Dr. Zimmer’s group at the Department of Infection and Immunity at the LIH working on natural killer (NK) cells. In 2010, I undertook my PhD thesis focusing on the development of NK cell based immunotherapeutic strategies for Glioblastoma under the supervision of Prof. Enger, head of the Brain Tumor Immunology & Therapy Laboratory at the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Bergen in Norway. Since 2015, my main research interest is to identify the underlying mechanisms linking immune activation, such as in the case of allergy, and the risk of glioma. I am currently conducting these studies in the framework of a transversal project across the Department of Infection and Immunity and the Department of Oncology at the LIH. In this context, in 2021 I have been elected board member of the working group for AllergoOncology from the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). Since February 2021, I joined the Neuro-Immunology Group.
